About Us

MacGregor Family Physicians is a privately owned medical practice originally formed in 1987 when Dr. Donald Brown opened his solo practice in Cary. His long-time friend and colleague, Dr. Robert Watkins joined forces with Dr. Brown in 1993 to form MacGregor Family Physician, PA. Sorry, there is no Dr. MacGregor – we were located in MacGregor Park at that time, and thus the name. In 2002, we moved to our present location in Waverly Place.

For over three decades, our practice has continued to grow and thrive. We think this is due to our intention to provide the best possible medical care in an atmosphere that our patients tell us is uniquely respectful, effective, and compassionate. Our physicians, Drs. Brown and Watkins along with our exceptional Physician Assistants, Kristin Rider and Kayli Reed, and staff are 110% committed to our patient’s health and well-being.

We serve all the surrounding communities and even have patients who travel from Charlotte, Kitty Hawk, Wilmington, Washington, DC, and Kathmandu, Nepal to see us for primary care. Being in the health profession is an honor and privilege that we take to heart. We listen, educate, and guide our patients toward better health choices and when we confront a problem that is beyond the scope of our practice, we refer patients to the specialists that we now have a track record of excellence. We are independent of the big corporate health entities, and thus we are free to help patients choose what is best for them.
